Hi

I have a remote for a DSL box witch works at 95 % with a code set from the philips database (Freebox-Cable STB - Codeset 2003).

my problem is this set does NOT include 4 color buttons that are present on the remote; So i decided to use the learn mode (Hex first, raw after).
It 'seemed' to work properly execpt is was only "one shot" then did not work anymore; So i decided to try to understand this behaviour.

The hex code for "blue" is "4032 0000 0000 0002 0024 000C 0001 0000" (doesn't change with "multiple learns")
But when I learned with the raw mode i noticed that the code send changed slightly each time :

first learn :
<<

FFFF 00E4 0100 0008 0B05 6B60 4DC8 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 407A C560 1CFE 405A 4060 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 409B 4B60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 405A 4060 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 5115 C2C3 0000 0360 4DC8 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 407A C560 1CFE 405A 4060 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 409B 4B60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE >>

then

<< FFFF 00E4 0100 0008 0B05 6B60 4DC8 4039 BA60 ...>>

then

<< FFFF 00E4 0100 0008 0B05 6B60 4DC7 4039 BA60... >>

So, my question is :

Should I learn 3 or 4 code sequences for each color (blueA, BlueB, BlueC, BlueD... RedA, RedB, RedC; etc. ) then, for each button, using a pronto script switch from one letter to another, then loop to first one ?

ex : first clic on blue sends "BlueA", second send "BlueB", third sends "BlueC", Fourth sends "BlueD" and fifths send "BlueA" again ...

OR is there any way to do that more simply ?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Roland, In pronto format the first 4 numbers are control numbers and must be correct to the last bit, although the second which is related to frequency can have some tolerance. All other values are timing counts and do not have to be exact. They effectively count how long the IR emitter should be on or off in some unit of measure related to the frequency the IR remote runs at. Difference in the values of 5% will generally not cause the code to be wrong.

Thank's to everyone.
That's very kind of you to help me.

Well, NOW, i'm really confused :-)

gdnsa :

I did try the discrete codes given for yellow/blue/red/green and they worked...
...once (same behaviour as with the hex codes I had first)

Lets focus on "blue"

0000 0070 0000 0012 000F 000B 0005 000B 0005 0017 0005 0011 0005 000B 0005 000B 0005 000B 0005 001D 0005 000B 0005 000B 0005 000B 0005 000B 0005 0011 0005 000B 0005 000B 0005 000B 0005 000B 0005 0D41

With this code for blue, let me (try to) be clear on what happens (Blue stands for "next page" on the box interface and I start on page 1/xxx

First of all, when I test these codes from "my database" using the "test" button it works fine ! Pages goes from 1/10 to 10/10 perfectly... So, i'm happy... I set these codes on my remote buttons and i download to the device...

Then I try the same thing using the device...

First hit on Blue -> page 2/10 (ok)
Second hit on Blue -> Sticks on page 2
More hits on blue -> Still sticks on page 2

Now if I alternate "Blue" and "arrow down" (arrow down does not change the page, just selects the second line on current page)

First hit on Blue -> page 2/10 (ok)
(hit arrow down)
Second hit on Blue -> page 3/10 (OK !)
(hit arrow down)
Third hit on Blue -> page 4/10 (OK !)

Etc.

Back to my "learned" code (FFFF 00E4 0100 0008 0B05 6B60 4DC8 4039 BB60 1CFE 4039 BB60 1CFE 407A C560 1CFE 405A 4060 ... etc.) It "seems" to work properly !

Should I stay like that and no more touch anything (as long as it works fine) ? I'd like to understand what happends, I feel a bit frustrated :-/

Barry :

When you say "first 4 numbers" do you mean from the hex code or from the learned code ? ("4032 0000 0000 0002 0024" or "FFFF 00E4 0100 0008") ?

I guess all that must be described "somewhere" and i should use google a bit more ? unless you can tell me the place to find the information...

Jason

Both codes act as "red", what is exactly nokia32 ?
does not seem to be any RFBY in "Nokia VCR Codeset 0032" ?

Well, thanks again to all of you !

Roland,

You have a problem of duration of the codes.
Try the following :
keypad : 0.32
longkeypad (2 digits) : 0.93
longpress : 1.5
all others (including colors) : 0.31
