I am a Pronto newby, and I am trying to connect a TSU9600/RFX9600 to a Russound CAV6.6 controller.

I am using the 2-way xcf template from the Russound website (TSU9600_2_05_10.xcf). When loaded in the TSU9600, the TSU is connected to the wireless network connection, and I can see that the serial extender is trying to send commands to the CAV6.6 controller by watching the RS232 leds of RFX9600.

However the CAV6.6 is not responding.

Please help with suggestions as how to solve this problem.

I take it you have the RFX9600 plugged into the rear RS232 port? Make sure the switch next to the front port is set to rear!

I often forget to switch it back after programing the CAV via the front!!!!
TSU9600, TSU9400, RFX9600, RFX9400, RU980, RU950, and the good old RU890 which stilll learns codes none of the others will!

Thank you for your reply.

I have connected the RFX9600 to the RS232 port of the CAV6.6. My CAV6.6 does not have either a RS232 port or switch for specifying usage of the rear port.

Had the same problem, If you're using the downloaded philips script,
check the parameters section (RS232 port 0-3 not 1-4)
You should use striat Trough cable

The Russound CAV6.6 has a front RS232 port behind the plastic cover that shows the zone names that change in colour (from red to green) when the zone is active. The CAM, and CAA only have a rear RS232 port. The same script should work with all 3, but Ive only ever used a CAV.

"oferpeleg" is correct if you are using port 1 on your RFX you need to enter a 0 in the parameters section.

Thank you for your answers.

The controller was set to using the from RS232 port. After changing this, the controller responds to commands from the pronto unit.

The version of phillips script downloaded seems to have fixed the errors in the parameters section. Port 1 is identical to port 1 on the RFX serial extender.
