Hi Folks,

Sorry about the cross post in the Custom Installer's forum.

Does anyone know where I can get some reasonably priced video synch sensing and voltage sync sensing modules? I plan on using them with the Pronto RFX9600 advanced extender.

The RFX9600 specs for the power sense connectors mention 4-30 V ac or dc.

The power sense connections on the RFX9600 are just two wire-in terminals, via a phoenix connector.

Someone in the Pronto Pro forum has sucessfully used a video sync module from Blue Video or something similar. I don't recall at this moment. However, when I last looked, they do not seem to have a voltage sensing module.

Philips has STILL not put out any application notes for these connections nor offered any brand and model #'s of devices which they have tested.

I have quickly looked through the Xantech line but did not see anything obvious.

Any ideas?

Thx Dave

I have successfully integrated the "Power sensors" feature in the RFX9600, using 12 volts power supply plugged into the A/C of the back outlets in cable boxes. That will allow to "conditioning" the output of the toggled command only when no power is present.

I have not try the "Video Sensor" jet; I have though in using few devices:

The only challenge is to find the wire breakdown from these devices to the RFX9600.

Hope that helps!

I'm also looking for a solution to this. I found these products on the Xantech site - looks like you'd probably need the CBCSM1 and the CSM1 (US plugs) or CSM1-77 (other countries):

According to the RFX9600 manual, the sensor inputs on it can just be connected to a mini-jack power sense output on 3rd party equipment. I assume they mean things like the 12v trigger outputs often found on projectors.

In which case, maybe you just need to connect the 'PULL UP' terminal and 'GND' terminal on the CBCSM1 to the power sense input on the RFX9600. I'm not sure which way round the wires would need to be connected to the RFX9600 though.

Has anyone found a power sense device or current sense device that will integrate with the power sense on the serial extender. I am trying to control an IR controlled A/C unit which does not have discrete commands.

The only power sense I could find was from Xantech, depends on what "reasonably priced" means to you and what is currently available.

Hi try these. My Pronto distributor swears by these so much he now distributes them. They work with the I/O on the RFX9600. There are video and audio sensors which are unfortunately inline although I have not tried them in parallel. The current sensors are cheap and work, the led sensor also has filters to work with green and red leds.

The video sensor looks remarkably similar to the Xantech unit.

Philips said they will not inform installeres of the correct way to wire an elan sensor. Elan stated that 5 volts can not be put back to the device... seems like I need another relay...

Level 2 cert should state this... little missleadin.. I have work with pantom power and see scenerios work like this... OH well...

Hope somebodey knows differntly...

Hi Guy's

Xantech Video/led/sound sense are simple. They have stereo plugs + - signal. the signal ouput is 5v. therefore simplest way to wire up is.

Stereo + EXtender
V.sense plug - -
+5v signal +5v

Use 12v regulated power supply on - / + terminals.

Happy programming.

PS i have done this with 4 xantech products in my setup.

I have the Xantech video/audio/powersense modules installed for different equipment in our rack and they have all worked flawlessly, extremely happy with the performance. They have been installed for over a year now, reliable but are not cheap.

A few years ago I saw on one of the home automation forums some designs for making a home made video probe. Does anyone recall this or have a link to info on doing this?
