FYI, Secrets of Home Theater recently reviewed the TSU9600:

Thanks for the link. It was an enjoyable read. Especially the part I have quoted below.

Quote from the article:
"In the near future, Philips will also introduce a way to control your HTPC (through MCE) directly on your Pronto."

While I'm a wait and see kind of guy it's hard not to get excited about the prospect of having MCE control via my TSU9600. Hopefully this information was provided to the reviewer by someone at Philips truly in the know.

I have an MCE HTPC. I used the Microsoft IR keyboard to teach most of the key commands to my TSU7000:

Now, a TSU7000 is pretty small for a keyboard, but it's useful to have the key commands for short use. Presumably, the TSU9600 might be just a little better, due to its higher resolution (and fake keyboard usage may be a reason to actually use the stylus).

I currently control a media center application running on my computer with my TSU9600 via a USB-UIRT. I also have control of other PC applications and Windows in general via my USB-UIRT and Girder. What I'm excited about however, is the prospect of having two-way control of Windows MCE via the TSU9600 as we currently have with Escient music servers. This level of control is what is being implied here if I read the review correctly. :-)

the review is wrong about the wi-fi being only 802.11B....it is in fact 802.11G compliant. He's right about the crappy WEP tho :(

I'd love to see full 2-way control, not just by title but complete with cover art and media descriptions on the Pronto.

Generating thumbnails and incorporating them into an XCF looks nice, but is a chore to maintain. It would be much better if the Media Center interface generated cover art thumbnails and sent them to the Pronto as folders (My Videos, My Music, etc) are browsed. Media Center automates cover art download and metadata (plot summary, actors, director, cover art) based on the DVD ID of a movie. It would be great if that was extended to the Pronto.
