Morning all, Ive been using the RFX9600 and have had great suscess with controlling Arcam products via RS232. Ive now got to do one for a Yamaha DVD S2700 and the data sheet from Yamaha makes no sence to me!

With an Arcam avr350 to turn off zone 1
it was 7 bits of data eg. "PC_" (to start)
"*" (Command code)
"1" (Parameter code)
"0" (Parameter code)
"\r" (Carriage return)

This is the data sheet for the Yamaha DVD

[Link: dwlweb.co.uk]

what do i need to input into ProntoEdit Professional?

Is it just "7C 80 8 0 0" followed by "\r" (for off)?

Also the data sheet does not show the values for Baud rate, Parity, Data bits, or Stop bits, so if anyone knows the values that would also be of great help.

cheers all.

More than likely, it's 9600 N,8,1. The CMDT01, CMDT23 are the actual values in hex of the the IR code data using the NEC protocol. Not sure how these translate into RS-232 codes

Mr Freeze,
Could you please send me the file as well? I'm trying to decipher this RS232 stuff and a correct file would be really useful.
Email address is in my profile.
Thanks
