Just upgraded a PC and it has Win64 on it. ProntoEdit Professional will not even install. I have not tried any other the other tools. Has anyone tried it on Vista?
This just really sucks. Win64 has been out for over a year and Vista just went RFM. What are they thinking everyone is going to uninstall the 64 bits OSs and go back to 2000 or XP?

Have you tried setting the compatibilty mode on the install kit?
I can run the editor on Vista, but cannot communicate with the 9600.

That did it, thanks Peter. First time I've played with Win64 and did not realize there was a compatibilty control.
To set the mode, right click on the install icon, select properties and then there is a compatiblity tab.
I just checked on an XP system and see that compatiblity control is also there. It has been a long time since I had to play with anything like that, something like the DOS - Win 3.0 transistion.
I can communicate with the 9600 without any problem. Win64 installed the device and I was able to send a few IR commands. I have USB version support set to 1.1 and 2.0 on the Win64 system. The XP just has USB 1.1 maybe that has something to do with communicating with the 9600? Both my XP and Win64 PCs can talk to the 9600.
Does Vista see the device at all?
