I am attempting to update the firmware on a TSU9400 and the computer states it has lost communication with the remote about a 90% completion.
Now the remote does not work at all, it states "command fail" continuosly.
Any idea how to revert the remote? Any other ideas?

Did you try a FULL firmware update as dicussed in the FAQ on Philips Website. To do this, you must hold down Firm2, Firm3, Firm4 during reboot of unit (see FAQ for more details).
