Hi all, Im new here, ,but I have been reading this forum for some weeks already. My dad bought a TSU9600 and I have to make sure it works. I have almost finished programming, but Im struggling with one thing: If you press for example 'watch TV button', it takes the tv 15 seconds to load, and so the macros as well. If you go back the to main menu and the tv is still turned on, you press 'wactch tv' again, so you have to wait 15 seconds again.
What I did right now, I made another page after 'watch tv' which contains button like 'Cinema' and 'Digital' and a 'Turn on' and 'Turn of' button. I think it is a pitty that you should turn the devices on manually.
So my question is: can this be done differently? (For example the pronto recognises that the tv is turned on and skips the macros?

I hope I have been clear and didnt make too many English mistakes.
Thanks for you help.

15 seconds? Do you have delays that cause this or ???

Look at the file I submitted for some hints. Basically the simplest thing is to have the hard "Power" buttons go to a different page when the TV is already on as compared to when it is off. Make the page jumped to when it is off such that it does not have all the commands which are not needed to switch back to watching TV. Make sense?

The TV takes 15 seconds to turn on, so the macros + delays = 15 seconds. I am sorry, but I have some difficulties with understanding you. With the powers buttons do you mean those at the bottom? I dont really understand the following sentence: Make the page jumped to when it is off such that it does not have all the commands which are not needed to switch back to watching TV.

where can I find your submitted file?

Thanks

There are current-sensing devices from Xantech that can be connected to PowerSense (input) of RFX9600 that would allow you to determine the power state of the TV and skip wait time if TV is already on. With the latest Mitsubishi DLP I have, I have to report that it did not work. So, as a result, I used ProntoScript and System Globals (System.setGlobal(), System.getGlobal()) to track the state of the TV Power. If the remote thinks the TV is NOT on, then it goes through a 10 second wait with progress bar and then proceeds to setup the system. If, during same session, user returns to home and then re-enters the activity, system has not been powered off so the 10 second wait is skipped.

With regard to understanding... Before the Pro (9600/9400) remotes were availablle, the ONLY way to make something like this happen was to bake-in logic via duplicate sets of pages. Such that, if on the Home Screen, user pressed System Power Off, you jumped to a different page that had basically all the same buttons but with different actions.

For example,

On "hidden" page Home-PowerIsOff you have a 'Watch TV' button that powers on TV, goes through a set of progress screens to wait for the 15 seconds, then sets up the system and jumps to the Watch TV page.

On page Home-PowerIsOn you have a 'Watch TV' button that simply sets up the system and jumps to the Watch TV page.

In your configuration, whenever user presses 'Home' hard button from any activity other than 'Home', you simply jump to Home-PowerIsOn page.

When the user presses the Hard 'Power' hard button, you shut everything down and jump to the Home-PowerIsOff page.

There is a device state tracking example of ProntoScript in the files section. It gives explanation for beginners.
