I'm looking pretty heavily at an Anthem D2, curious if anyone has implemented a full usage file for that unit.

I am still running on the old software on my 9600 and will have to upgrade and start completely over learning the new software, not that its a huge obstacle but would like to make the transition as easy as possible.

Any suggestions to implement the D2 are welcome as well.... I don't have alot of complicated equipment and maybe the D2v would likely be overkill, but I'm looking for the best in SQ, and future proofing down the line where the D2v seems to have a progressive upgrade path making it a pretty "green" unit in that respect.

Thanks

Patrick

Patrick,

You'll find it highly likely that most of the casual users on this site don't even know who Anthem is, much less have a complete config file.

I have found that Anthem gear is overkill for about 90% of the configurations that it's installed in. It's usually only utilized in systems where money isn't an important or determinant factor.

Have fun with that bad boy.

Thanks Evohome... I can appreciate your response on that point... :)

Its not like I can't figure it out, It really comes down to just alot of hands on time, learning codes and building pages... :)

I guess I'm kinda a DIY kinda guy and with all the money I have saved from having a ridiculously priced dealer come into my house, I find the reward in taking care of these type of implementations on my own. Much like building all my own subs for HT that compete or rival JL's Fathom lines of which I still own one... :) I measure everything else by its performance and SQ....

Just thought I would give it a shot, as I love my Pronto....
When I searched for Anthem here.... I got 1 hit !!!!! hhehehe Hence my thread. :)

Still haven't made up my mind on the D2v but I have nothing but time to research my direction. But the industry has quite a lack of fully featured units that offer superior SQ.

thanks again...

Patrick

I really enjoy the Parasound gear a lot. Their Pre/ Pro combos are really incredible when you burn them in and pump some good speakers.

Outlaw Audio... wow...

NAD used to make some decent gear, but they've been pretty iffy for a while now.

Take a look at Adcom. Features aren't overwhelming, but the gear is awesome.

Have fun.

I am running a Cary Cinema 11A into and Outlaw 7 channel amp, and then to B&W signature seven speakers and a velodyne sub. When the Cary Cinema11A isn't acting flaky (early firmware issues) the sound is amazing.

I recently did an install with a TSU-9600 / RFX-9600 and Anthem D2. Most of the control was RS-232 but a few things were IR. I have the code pages for both. If you contact me off list I will send it to you.

A newbie with Anthem D2V System looking for advice / shortcuts.
I am a consumer, not a pro. I just swapped my old AV processor for a new Anthem D2V.

Found the Anthem remote control sucks. So, I bought a TSU 9600. I am in the process of trying to learn enough about PEP2 to make it all work.

Would love to find anyone that has done a system or knows how to do a system with:
Anthem D2V (AV Processor), Pioneer Elite BDP-05FD (Blu-Ray DVD), Direct TV HR22-100 (Satellite Receiver & DVR), Fujitsu P55XSHA (Plasma TV), IPOD Interface, and Nintendo Wii.

I am willing to pay for advise / shorts or even just to do it for me.

Well I wouldn't say the Anthum D2 is over kill if you need sound and video and a room EQ system. In fact I ordered one I think it is a bargin if you just order the room eq that is in it that is like 4 k alone, and everyone needs that unless you have a totally falt room and I have never seen one out side a studio. There is a cheaper Anthum but it iis also not quite as good.

I also have the cary cinema 11a, I am giving up on it just to many issues and Cary keeps telling me they will be fixed next week it has been 3 months. They never did fix all the issues in teh old 11 so I din't have fath they will fix this they are just to new to the game and don't know what they are doing.

Hey guys, I had forgot I posted this.... but I think its safe to say that I'll be heading into the market to buy a D2v...

programmer geek, appreciate your input.... I'm looking for an all in 1 unit that is just tops in its class, and I keep coming back to the Anthem to fill all my needs for a good time into the future. I had considered a HT bypass for 2 channel but would have to cobble together too much to incorporate my 4 subs, I love my subs. Not really a 2 channel purist kind of guy, just looking for better then a receiver I have now for a Pre-Pro feeding my IcePower.

n2hifi, I'll be looking for some help down the road, so I'll likely be looking to contact you.... appreciate the offer...
