Hi All,

Noob around these parts.

Firstly apologies for what seems to be swear word around these parts the Pronto 9200.

Having owned a few Harmony's and found them to be lacking in quality I thought I'd invest in a Pronto, but not requiring the full capabilities of the 9400+, plumped for the 9200, which on receiving it, seems to be built well etc though having read some posts maybe I have bought a dud here and should have stuck to something else?

The issue is why is the Philips & O1R components database so hit and miss? There seems to be huge amounts of duplication, not one entry per component with all the buttons in? some just won't compile with the not very helpful Configurator tool - or am I missing the point?

For instance I have an H/K-AVR8500 (AVR8000) choosing the most comprehensive option from O1R causes a non compile? Then there is my DVDO VP50, there are about 5 entries covering DVDO VP's with most lacking power on\off buttons, the one which does list them has very little else. ... and no way to copy buttons from one to another

Finally, with the announcement of the 9300 and support by PEP2 anyone know if the 9200 will now be supported?

Cheers in advance for any assistance guidance etc

-Steve

I doubt you will see 9200 support in PEPv2. You might contact O1R if you are having problems/questions with their database. I was not aware that database would work with the 9200 software so I can't help further in that area.

I suspect that Philps database is way more complicated than the Web setup you do with Harmony (never owned a Harmony but going on what I've heard).

The database works fine, you must make sure that every component that you add into your project has a general delay and power on delay set in its properties, or it will not download to the remote.

Cheers for the comments and tips. It was the delay thing messing up the compile!

Yes the databases will work though still don't understand why there and multiple entries for the same device with buttons\functions missing.

I knew the Pronto would be more complicated than the Harmony and is a much better piece of kit. Funnily though I use it to program the Pronto with the codes which don't work\missing, as the Logitech db just works.

Now I am more used to the Configurator Wizard things work more smoothly and having investigated the back end SQLite db I can now customise even more...

Cheers
