Hey folks,
I've been playing with our showroom 9600 for a while and I've noticed some performance issues with the remote.
Using the same codes and components as I do with our 7500, the 9600 falls way short when sending IR off axis -- about 30 degrees. I can't control components consistently on one side or the other side of an entertainment cabinet.
I used a digital camera to check whether the 9600's 5 IR emitters were working properly, and they're all firing just fine. I can hold a 7500 and a 9600, and the 7500 works every time off axis. The 9600 works relably only from the center of the room.
This doesn't seem to be one remote that's bad, I bought a remote for a client with the same results.
Any ideas???
Thanks,
Dawn

Different IR LEDs. Also, the LEDs are on the right-side of the remote, typically where one places his/her right index finger when holding the remote (left index finger is on backlight button). I know the signal's not as strong but as I run most of my stuff via RF, I have not encountered this problem.
