Prices for TSU 9400 in uk are very high. Just wondered if there would be any issues importing from states (what about the rf? Will there be any issue with regulations and frequencies used?)

Of course, the way Pound Sterling is going, not sure what i'll get out of it...

You will be stung with customs and VAT and a courier handling charge- The mains adapter will be 110 volt, and MIGHT be 100-240 volt (but then US two pronged) and for any warranty claims you MAY have to return to the US.

You then have to find a company that will ship to the UK, and accept a US credit card, and your card company may tmp block the transaction if you dont buy abroad much.

Current exchange rate is likely to make this a non starter.

However, I buy most of my expensive electronics from the US - message me if you want to know how to do it well.

The power supply is universal and takes 100-240V. The plug will be U.S.

Go to this UK link www.vipcinemas.co.uk.
Send an email with subject "remotecentral" and I will see if I can do something so you can avoid importing one.

I've bought a few 9400s & 9600s for personal use from the US with no problems (I'm in Australia). The power supply is a switchmode device covering wide voltage range (so fine in Aus with 240V 50Hz), with just a simple ($5) plug adapter. Warranty issues are a bit meaningless as I can buy two remotes (ie keep a spare!) for less than the price of buying one in Australia.

iam-940,

I got my TSU9400 from the US on ebay. All I needed was a shaver adaptor to plug in the mains, and everything else works as normal.

There aren't any isses with IR/software/RF as I think the remote itself is the same.

Luckily I didn't have to pay import tax so the total came to about £370 with delivery - much better than the £700 odd it cost to buy here!

The remote is identical between the euro and north american models: The only difference are the prongs on the power supply which is an external DC transformer style of plug. As Peter has said it is multi voltage by nature of being a DC transformer.

Regarding e-bay: They aren't always on the mark with their prices. Take a look at http://SaleStores.com (they ship everywhere); I bought a TSU9400 from them @ $510.37 USD (374.03 GBP).... E-Bay was about $100.00 USD more expensive and E-Bayers were selling brand new in a 'distressed box'. Well for a $100 USD discount I got a brand new unit in a non-distressed box!
