I've been on Home Automation side for a while and am getting into A/V side of things. I have had TSU7500 for a while that I've programmed successfully, and recently, I purchased TSU9600 to utilize HAI's script.
I know nothing about JavaScript and am looking for path of least resistance to get thru the learning process so I can program the TSU9600.

For those that didn't know any JavaScript before 9600 days:
What tutorials, books did you read and found beneficial?
How long did it take before things started to make sense?

I saw that some suggested getting Flanagans book from Amazon or such, however, there are several different ones, and I would like to as you, which book did you find to be a 1-stop-shop to learn and use for the 9600 programming?

Thanks,
Mario

I would suggest a book that isn't focused on WEB only

I'm currently reading "Beginning javascript with DOM and ajax - from novice to expert"

Where Javascript for the web isn't the main focus, I would recommend it, but as you might have guessed I just started learning it myself. However for me it's 2 ways, as it's javascript for pronto and javascript for webdevelopment (including DOM/Ajax, so that's why I picked up that book in the first place) I would wait for Barry's advice, as he seems to be a good Prontoscript programmer or Lyndel who also seems to be an expert on the subject, but they probably have years of experience and might not be able to help you on recent books.

Be sure to get the most recent version of a book, not versions from 2006 or less, as there's always development in programming/scripting languages else you'll set yourself back in my opinion.

Get the Flanagan book. "Javascript: The Definitive Guide". It has to be the 5th Edition.
