I just received the remote and have just started to go through the Ultimate Pronto Guide that was given to me by the owner of Remote Quest. Great guide, but I have a question. I finished creating a few new pages (ir codes and TV IR) and loaded the codes in, but when I go back to the remote after its is downloaded, all I get is a blank screen that I cant do anything with that keeps saying "connecting" in the upper right hand corner. Any thoughts on how to see the "test style" pages that i made?

Connecting means that it is trying to talk to a WiFi extender. If you don't have one, make sure you tell it so.

Through System Properties in the editor. Turn off Wi-Fi and don't specify any devices use RF and you can test without any problems.

I officially need help --I am not going to ask specific questions, but I would like to ask all of your opinions on where the best "HOW TO" is located for this remote. I have downloaded to SINGLE RM user and want to start fresh from there. The disk gave to me from Remote quest is a little to confusing and the HELP in the Pro config software is a little short. Is there any link or website that offers a detailed HOW TO in 'easier terms" If there isnt such a thing, then I understand and I will continue to hack away at this. I am SUPER determined to get this thing up and running.

Dave --dont think for a second that I dont like the remote, it is AWESOME, but I am having trouble following your software that you gave me. From there I downloaded the pre-configured single room. From there I followed the instruction on 6 easy steps to get going (or something like that). Still a little confused.

Try starting a new file altogether, its very easy to put a few buttons on and get going, then you will need to learn your IR codes into the software (if they are not already in there) then drag and drop the code onto the button. Beware if you are learning the codes hold the original remote command for at least 1 second, I did it too quick the first time around and half the codes were incomplete.

Don,
Even though you have a TSU9600, I think you may be needing some help with the Basics. Therefore, I'll suggest downloading the ProntoEdit 4 manual from the Classic Pronto Files Section and a review of the Classic Pronto and Pronto NG FAQs on this site. After reading the PE manual, the FAQs will start to make more sense and hopefully speed you along the way and help overcome the learning curve. The "Ultimate Pronto Guide", available from Dave D'Arche will also help.
Once you do overcome this curve, you will be WELL on your way to developing any pronto config you can imagine.
Welcome to the addiction.

I have been a CI for about 4 years now, but never had the need to do the programming. There was a "Programmer", or it was just a Harmony and even I got through those without a problem. Now, with a new company that is pushing the 9600, I have to learn it. I want to thank yous for all the info you are providing. Not like I was thrown to the wolves, or anything, its just never having done programming like this before, I was alot intimidated. Thats all, thanks guys
