Just received this and got the basics up and running in a few hours.

I bought this because I needed a remote that would control my Windows Vista Media by RF (issues with the IR receiver). All the key mapping works fine except I can't find any RF component mapping that brings up the main Media Centre menu (like pressing the 'green button' on any standard Media Centre remote). The obvious option, 'Menu', just brings up the DVD menu.

Can anybody point me in the right direction before I tear out my remaining hair?

What is it about posting?

You struggle with a problem for ages, check the forums, google.....and as soon as you post you find the answer!

For anybody else who has this problem, the option to select is 'Start'.

To be fair, it is difficult to criticise the documentation when there isn't any :)

One question: how did you get the the remote to work with VMC? The documetation is very fuzy about that and says you gotta go to home, choose "oneway control" but I don't know how to find that option!

I might be on the wrong soloution here:-

TSU9200 if you use the PCX9200 with the remote you get 2way feed back from WMC ..

Is this what your trying to do?

No,Ï've got the tcu9200 and pcx9200 up and running as IR remote and the two way control so it shows albums etc., but according to the manual it's possible to use the remote as a RF remote for VMS as if it were a MCE remote. My Taskmanager shows an .exe file, LMonewaycontrole.exe ( it's LMonewayservice) I thought it was named and I suspect that tis file is the one that makes this control happen.
Anyone have a clue??

are you refering to this bit in the manual:-

"On-screen media selection
On-screen media selection is the ability to view and select a list of songs, pictures and movies from your PC on the LCD screen of a remote control. The 2-way RF communication incorporated in the remote and the USB dongle provided with it, ensures the content of the PC is transmitted to the remote. So, no need to turn on your TV or monitor to view the menu and select your favorite files."

No, I'm refering to this piece in the manual (it's in the chapter " Browsing media ' in Mediacontrol help ) :

"One Way mode is an option for controlling the media player without uploading the Media Library (or any other information) to the TSU9200 device. In this mode TSU9200 works as an ordinary remote control device and in some sense as a substitution for a mouse in terms of controlling the media player. This mode is particularly useful when working with Windows Media Center media player. To switch to the One Way mode press the "Home" key on TSU9200 and select "One Way Service mode" activity (if available). To return to the Two Way press the "Home" button on the TSU9200 again and select two-way mode activity.

Notes.

The One Way Service mode is applicable only for TSU9200 RF.

One Way Service always starts up with the system. "

It clearly says the TSU9200 could be used as an ordinary WMC remote, right?

But How??

I don't think I can help much here. I just use the PC extender (PCX9200) for complete control over VMC. I don't use IR or the RC extender (RFX9200) with VMC.

Hi Tom, that's just the thing i'm trying to achieve.
Now only the two way control works but i would like to use the remote to handle all the buttons for VMC, just like the standard MCE remote.
By the way, I have the pcx9200 and no rfx9200.
I just want to know how to configure the remote to use it as an MCE remote, with the benefit to be RF instead of IR.

You have to use the right component. There is a different component for controlling VMC with the PCX module.

Look in the component list for Brand Name=Philips, Component Type=MCE PC, Model Name=Media Center PC controlled by PCX, Control Type=PCX

If you use this component then most of the hard key mapping is already done.

This wasn't described in any manual, was it?
I have found it in the factory database, but unlike all other codes I can't add it to mydatabase?!!!?!?

I'm getting really frustrated with this, is there any way for you to make a backup for just this one component, so I could use it and open it in "other Database"?
Or do you have any idea to get it into Mydatabase?

Thanks in advance!!

I think this component behaves differently - it isn't in my 'my database' either but I can still select it as a component in Configurator. Give it a try.

BTW You should really start a new thread for this sort of problem not add to existing threads about other subjects (it's called hijacking!)

Hi Tom, it just started as being curious how you managed to get it to work, but point taken.
I'm starting a new thread.

Dear all,

I have a similar problem like Niels (trying to control MCE with the TSU9200 like with a Microsoft RC), and I have read and understood the hints in the thread above. I assume that the RFX9200 is not necessary when trying to control MCE with TSU9200 and PCX9200. The Two-Way-Mode works with my TSU9200 already (although the cover art does not show up).

My problem is that I do not have a component "Brand Name=Philips, Component Type=MCE PC, Model Name=Media Center PC controlled by PCX, Control Type=PCX", no matter in which database I search. This component is also not part of my factory database.

Is there any chance someone could send me a backup-database? Or as I think you are not able to add the component above to "MyDatabase", ist there any other way you could send me the codes? I do not have any "PCX-Control-Type" in the database.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Alexsey
