Hi, first time poster here. I have experience with the URC pro remotes but this is new territory for me...
I am specifying an i-muse central server system with three remote players, all controlled by Proto 9600's. I-muse is apparently in the process of implementing a two way link with the pronto, similar to the escient I assume.

The i-muse equipment will all be connected through a gigabit router. Dose anyone know what other equipment and networking would be necessary? Will the 9600 communicate directly with the I-muse players, or do they communicate via a wireless network, and how dose the RFX9400/9600 fit in to the picture. These seem like pretty basic questions, and I freely admit I am not up to date on computer networking. I have a networking guy who has offered to help get everything working, but I need to know what that everything is.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Unless there's been a change the Escient is the only device that currently has two-way control and it's not user changeable so you would be stuck with one way control until Philips open up this facility with a firmware update.

Anyways, if your iMuse server is located centrally then I would investigate the following setup...

The RFX9600 would be located with your iMuse server and connected to it using IR Blasters (unless there's an iMuse model that has an RS-232 protocol and serial connector - in which case use that).
The RFX9600 would be wired into your lan (probably via a switch located with your server).
The TSU9600 would communicate with the RFX9600 (and hence the iMuse) over a wireless connection.

So, you'll need a working wireless network in range of where you wanted to use the remote (you'll need to think about this if the property is large and you wanted to use the one controller around it). You'll need wired network access near the server and RFX9600.

You will need some patience and practice in building the transport screens on the TSU9600!

Hope this helps!

Regards
Brian.
