Everything works fine with 9600 and the european Escient SE160i... its great fun to use the 9600..
But i have a little question..Does anybody know how to make a factory reset for the Escient?

It's on page 86 from the manual.
1. Press and hold the power button for 4 seconds 2. When the led on the front panel begins to flash, release the power button 3. When the led on the front panel glows solid red, fireball is ready to use 4. Press and release the power button to turn on the fireball.

Hi! Thanks for your clue... But i said it in the wrong words.. How can i delete(reset) the Harddrive and the harddrive is empty like when you get it new.....

I should think the following will also work on the se160. It works for DVDM-100 and DVDM-552 for sure.
From the Setup menu, press '8' '0' '2' '0' on the remote or the keyboard. I'm not sure if this will erase the hard drive. However, I think you can share your folder where music is, delete all the files from Windows Explorer, then run a reindex from the 8020 menu option.
8020 will also allow you to completely clear the registration, etc... Note that this will not take you back to the original software version if you've installed any updates. Restoring to defaults will just clear any user settings such as selected skin, etc...
