Since there's a dearth of xcf files that people have posted--i.e., there aren't any at all--I thought I'd put my file out there for any other amateurs (like me) who may want to see an example.

This is nothing special, and I'm sure it will become more of an embarrassment after the design contest ends on March 15 and there are some much better demonstrations available of what can be done. It mostly uses stock elements, although I did make the buttons on the system and home pages.

If it looks like the channel icons have repeats, they do--it's so I can tune the TiVo (OTA and cable) and also the TV directly (cable). There are other quirks that I won't point out, but I have my reasons.

I also uploaded this to the Remote Central site, but I thought I'd put it on a public file sharing site in the meantime:

Nothing to be embarrassed about eelton. Nice job! Enjoyed checking out your file. One suggestion I do have for you is to add activity specific icons in the top left corner of your pages as seen in the "default_Out of the Box.xcf" file.

Thanks. I guess the reason I didn't do that is to decrease clutter, but maybe I'll put the little icons in to see how things look. As I'm sure is true for just about everyone, this is a work in progress.

It really helps tie things together in my opinion. I think you'll be very happy with the results. I know that I am. (Various example pics of my configuration file can be seen in this thread.)

I am a beginner with the system and I think this is a great example. I think it would be great to have more .xcf files like this posted. I am just starting to build my configuration and will likely be relying heavily on the base screens & some of the posted examples for inspiration - but will still look to post it when I am done. I am suprised there aren't more examples given the helpful nature of this community - although I can certainly understand why professionals would not be able to share their work.

Nice XCF, more people should post theirs. I'm just using the XCF that came with the remote, but I made a pretty cool xbox screen. If anyone wants the images, just let me know and I'll upload them. Everything (logo, text, background) is it's own image, so it an be moved around. I forgot to mention that the X logo (silver ball with X) is also a button. I assigned it to do the same as the one on the controller.
