I’m a newbie and I’ve got a bit stuck.

I”m having some problems trying to get channel macros to work using PE2.

I could add these manually to each channel icon if need be, but I just wanted to do it properly.

I’ve manually learned the codes from my remote and put them into my database. When I click on the Channel Macro icon and put in the channel number I get an error saying, ‘the digits do not have a specified IR code’ – or something like that.

It makes sense really – as obviously how does the Channel Macro wizard know that a specific IR code in MyDatabase is actually a digit? Is there somewhere within PE2 where I specify that an IR code is a digit or do I have to label the commands in My Database a certain way eg 1,2,3 etc?

Make sure your activity has a component associated with it. Then, have a look at one of the IR codesets for a cable box from Philips database. Make your function names for your codes match those for the digit codes of the cable box.

I worked it out. It was what I thought and that the IR codes had to be renamed to ‘Digit 1’, ‘Digit 2’ etc so that PE knew they were the digit IR codes. But thanks for the reply.

Hello.
Why my "Channel Macro Action" does not contain a "End action", as in Help shows? There is "Start Action" only, that stupidly useless alone. =)
I use PEP3.

I like to think that I am partly to thank for the addition of both.

Channel Macro was useless without having both a before and after action for purposes of selecting discs in the older Sony CD and DVD changers. Initially, all you could do was a start action as it was purposed for satellite STBs.

I then pointed out to Philips that is could be SOOOOOOOOO much more useful if they would add prefix and suffix action. Just took them a few releases to get it in.

For example:
[Disc]
[Digit 1]
[Digit 4]
[Enter]

[Disc]
[Digit 1]
[Digit 4]
[Digit 8]
[Enter]

And you get the same results if you are using PEP2 v2.4.23 (June 17, 2010) from the files section here.
