Hi,

Last week I bought the TSU9600 and extender RFX9600.
After the configuration I connected the extender to my Vigor 2900G WLAN with a normal ethernet cable.
The extender gives no reaction when pressing buttons on the TSU9600.
Remarkably the router shows an orange light at the connection, other connections are showing green lghts.
Could that be the problem?? Is this a matter of lower speed. Do I have to buy another router? (The Vigor is a pretty good router, I think.....)

With extender discovery (tools menu) it takes some time to see the extender.
Network mode on TSU9600, WEP SSD and password
Turned off the Windows XP firewall
Tried extender ID switch in "1" and "0" position
Config switch 1 - shows 2 green lights on the extender
The wireless network is normally accessible by other (notebook)computers.

Can anyone tell me if the router is here the problem?

You could try and set the ip in the Pronto Pro editor for the extender. That way you will bypass the extender discovery and any possible problems with using the wrong id. Also I hope you haven't forgot to set what buttons/devices should go through the extender =)

Thanks for your answer.
I tried everything but it does not work.
I 'll try to get in touch with a Philips guy, maybe the extender is not ok.

Are both the Pronto and Extender on the same subnet? Did you download the latest firmware to the RFX9600 when you had it manually connected? Do you have a different router that you could try?

Thank you for your suggestions,

The extender has a unique ip adress 192.168.1.201 and gateway 192.168.1.1. (the same address to startup the router software)
I filled in the same addresses in the Pronto software.
I attached the extender to another Vigor router and the same orange light at the Lan connector. So the router may not be the cause?
The extender already had the newest firmware, I renewed the update.
It is realy frustrating and a shame for Philips.

I have my RFX9600 connected to a Dlink DES-1105 switch which is hooked into a Linksys router WRT54G v2 and also a Linksys WAP54G v2. The TSU9600 is usually about 5-10' from the WAP and has 3-4 bars typically. The port that the RFX is hooked into is also orange while everything else is green and I may get a "command failed" every now and then but I think it is because of my Rotel preamp vol+- being pressed too fast (this is when it usually occurs). I thought that the orange indicator means that its running at 10mbps and not 100mbps like the others in green??

I have been saying that Philips needs to publish application/installer notes for all of these products.

manual and there is no mention of a orange LED.

Come on Philips Team, let's get these appplication notes
out instead of making us experiment!!!

Dave,

It's the router with the Orange LED (See first post)...

Quoting: "Remarkably the router shows an orange light at the connection, other connections are showing green lghts."

Maybe the router is not industry-standard G compliant. Has the firware on the router been upgraded since it was installed? For Linksys routers, you almost always want to stay on the latest firmware.
