Just like the title says, the editor comes up with an error about Pronto Professional Editor Internal Error: HID not found.

Any ideas?
I can't do a firmware update either.

Thanks

Not enough information. What operating system are you running? Did you install the software with Admin Rights? If XP, what service pack, etc...

The error message is saying that it can't find/communicate with your Pronto. Try powering off and rebooting your PC, turning your Pronto off and on again. Otherwise, try re-installing the software.

Windows XP Pro, SP2
Tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling it, no luck. Tried rebooting both the pc and the pronto, still nothing. I'm the Admin on the PC.

Thanks

Toronto 122,
I just received my 9600 and are having the same problem with mine (error c5, HID not found). I have noticed that no further threads were posted, therefore, I am assuming that you were lucky enough to have resolved the issue. Can you please let me know how you got your unit to work? I hope it wasn't by exchanging it!
Thanks!
DDon

I second this. The message you are getting has nothing to do with the software. It's telling you that the remote is not being detected by windows properly. I've received this message myself many times. Resetting the remote has always done the trick for me. One thing to keep in mind here is that if you reset the remote while it's in the cradle you'll need to undock, then redock the remote before windows will attempt to detect it properly. Sometimes it takes undocking it, then docking it a couple times before windows once again begins detecting it properly. In a few cases I even had to reset the remote a second time.

Brilliant! I new it was something very simple... I did try to reset the unit numerous times to no avail. Then, after reading your post and under much skepticism, I tried to reset the unit without it being hooked up to the cradle and voila! Good thing, I was starting to drive the Philips guys crazy. Many thanks Lowpro!
