Change a TV icon on the fly ... no more dirty codes ... let there be sound *.WAV

Could this be true?

Wow... does that resemble RTI's editor to anyone else?

the editor software looks very nice but I'm impressed at how many buttons they're fitting on the screen. I hope they're not too tiny in this picture and that this image represents a set-up that is useable for most people... even with fat sausage fingers like me

I still say it looks like a repackaged 9800i. I'll bet (not much) inside it's the same.

No mention of Wi-Fi connectivity so I would guess it is something different to a 9800i.

If this has been "Designed by installers, built by Philips" why are there so few comment on this website as to details, surely this is a prime website for installers??

Can't really see what is so different from a standard pronto so far....will just have to wait and see

The teaser suggests that the significant changes are in the editor. If true, I wonder if the new editor can be used with older Pronto NG models. Any clue?

A safe guess would be "no".

3=?
4=delay
5=beep/wav
6=jump

8=?
9=?
10=?

is 2 RS-232 or USB?
is 3 a wave (RF? WIFI?)
why is 9 greyed out?

Mind you, all these are just wild guesses here, but besides the ones I think Anthony is completely right on here are couple other possibilities.

2 defiantly looks like RS-232 to me, say to a box like the 6500 with Serial IR or RS232 hookups?

3 is a wave, but is it intentionally that boxy (maybe signifying a binary i.e. for remembering the binary state of a command say power), or (much more likely) it's just meant to represent a wave, say for IR frequency?

8 Really getting wild here, but could it something to do with the start and end commands that show up on the teaser's "macro" box just prior to your screen capture? Or could it be a way to edit the delay directly?

9 I can't see great, at first I almost did think it looked like an antenna (future models having Wifi, or bluetooth?) but on a second look it could be that state thing I was talking about with #3, It almost looks like a ? above a + and - sign. But that one I'm probably way off on.

10 is obviously the remote itself, but what does that represent? Got 2 guesses on that one as well. a) it could be a way to test the macro, through the remote, if it is hooked up (similar to the way you can test single IR codes from that screen) or b) it could be a way to make the remote perform some visualization while the command was going on, but not necessarily jump.

Id be curious to here others guesses as well. Not that I'll probably ever get to use this editor since I'm just a meager end user. I"m honestly not bitter since I probably will never hit that high end anyway, since I still use a 3000 I got the first month they came out.

Oh well,

John

John, I ma going with the assumption that all the buttons grouped together are actions

2: agree

3: don't know, don't think IR frequency, I would guess it would fall under #1, then again they might have split it up and 1= IR DB and 2=IR learnt

8: no idea what you mean

9: looks like

?a |
+++|

just thought of this, how about timers? ?=time +++=actions (but then again it could also be conditionals ? for the variable and +++ for actions (but why greyed out)

10: I agree it is the remote, but I still think that it should be an action. Maybe it is special functions

OK, I think what this all is boiling down to is that they need to work on more obvious icons! :-)

lol if we knew the features it might make it easier. At this point i think we are trying to make them match what we would like it to have.

the 123 button for instance makes clone copies of the hot actresses that are on the TV :)

so care to take a guess as what they mean :)
