Music server brand Olive has just launched a new series, Opus 4 and zoneplayer melody 2. Both are quite nice adn seems to be of there own design as opposed to previous Hifidelo models. The question is if there is any 2-way Pronto integration? www.olive.us

The website does not include any protocol docs so I have to assume no at this point. If someone can supply me the doc, I'll have a look.

Well, then I must ask. If the TCP/IP spec is NOT yet finalized, how in the heck can there be 2-way integration for the TSU9600?
Or, were you planning on using the Web-cam approach to monitor the display on the olive? :)

Webcam, hm that sounds interes.... hey you are pulling my leg, Mr! LOL
It is going to have TCP/IP thats set, the product itself is still not finalised as far as understood. They have apparently been in touch with Philips and some distributor is apparently doing pronto so that might point in the right direction and hopefully answers my initial question.

No, not pulling your leg. You could setup webcam via pc and use the TSU9400 module that will show fames from webcam that someone else has developed here. Not quite what you might want as you could look but not touch but it would give you feedback.

Yes, I know it could be done, but it seems like a "gaffa tape" DIY solution, but workable.

Still no public protocol on Olive site? I guess someone could reverse engineer their interaction with Wireshark but I'm not up for the task. ;-)

The Olives can be controlled via their web-based interface by simply typing in the appropriate ip address in the web browser of your favorite wi-fi enabled device.
This brings me to my question for the experts on this site. My birthday is coming up and I was planning on asking for a 9600. This decision is partially contingent on whether or not I can use the wi-fi on the remote to access the web-based interface of my Olive Musica. Is this possible? Right now I have to use either my laptop or my Nokia N800 to accomplish this while my TSU 7000 quietly stands by. I am extremely hopeful that I can eliminate the need for a laptop or the Nokia and do everything from one remote. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The 9600 does NOT have a built-in web interface. You could write prontoscript to communicate via Olive with HTTP but I seriously doubt such script exists and if it is truly a web interface, the ability to provide a full html client could be lots of script and likely cost more than your remote to have it developed.
