I am trying to reprogram my pronto and need help. I cant get the revert to erase all previous information. When I try to add a new device, adding a new device is greyed out. Any help?

You posted to the wrong forum but I'll try and help out. Your post really belongs in the Classic Pronto Forum.

You will need to download and install the Pronto Edit 4.0.2 software (latest release) downloadable from the Classic Pronto Files Section. In order to use this software, you will need an available RS-232 (COM Port) or a USB 2 serial converter (see the Classic Pronto FAQ for best recommendation on vendor). Once you have all the equipment together, you should run the software and open the Default Configuration File for the TSU6000. This file is installed in a folder where the sofware's EXE file is located.

Once you have this file open, download it to the remote. And, while you are at it, you might want reflash the firmware using the Tools Option from the software.

FYI, if you need help with the ProntoEdit software, there's a manual also available from the Classic Pronto Files Section.

I'm a newbie and just purchased this bad boy (thank God I'm a programmer by profession). Just wanted to say Hi :) and ask two questions:

1. Are there any good books on designing a remote interface?
2. When adding a device from the Philips database, if the device model is not listed, how do you know which CodeSet to download? Is it trial and error?

Trial and error. And, if you purchased a TSU6000, then the best place to post is the Classic Pronto Forum as I stated above in my first post. This is the TSU9600 forum.

Gosh, my eyes are bad! No, I did purchase the TSU9600, not the TSU6000. I didn't notice that the original post was in the wrong forum.
