Hi Dave,

the PLUS_PC1 I added just before I went to home, but that isnīt the problem. I adjusted them and still got the same problem.
And would like to use them as standard and not by prontoscript.
I found a tool from Barry Gordon, and thatīs saying that some codes are undefined like "epgOn" or "System".. Just donīt know where to start, even this is a really basic thing.

I gave your button the prontoscript name, and the home activity a prontoscript name and it worked (or at least, reached a different error).

If you are trying to execute actions for a button using prontoscript (as you seem to be) it must have a prontoscript name.

I have some hardware that we manufactued to monitor the power usage within your home, i would like a script that would show the power usage on the pronto.

It is via RS 232 , with a very simple protocol, e.g send hex h70 and it sends back a voltage in hex, eg 6.2 v h00 h00 h06h02.

i would then like the option on the parameters page to add the cost of a KW hour, therefor being able to display the power consumption in real time. Would be nice to have the ability to show a graph too...

this device also has the ability to convert 0 to 250hz to a dc voltage for wind speed indecators, wind turbines, water wheels etc.

Mark,

If you want to use RS-232, you should have a defined starting character and a defined end character so you can use Serial.match() much easier. This, in protocol terms is known as message framing. Without this, you will not be able to do reliable RS-232. Maybe your ending character is a CR (ASCII 13)?

Does your equipment also support TCP/IP? This would be a better solution but still requires framing of message.

For KW/H, is this cost based on Time Of Day? If so, you might be able to use the current time string but there's no real timebase on the Pronto. When you download a config, the time is set from the PC.

Regarding the diagram/graph.

Best you will be able to do is a bar graph using a resizable rectangle panel on the Pronto using standard ProntoScript. That is, unless you want to write some PC software to generate a diagram where Y is consumption and X is time. Once you generate diagram as JPG file, you could then use ProntoScript to fetch the image via HTTP or some other protocol.

If you would like to email me at the address on my profile, I'd like to dicuss this a bit further.

Thanks,
Lyndel

OK. I'd like some information about your device as well.

Pronto Script....

Due to the requests i have had about pronto scripts, we are going to do a 12 week course (not me personally) for beginers on Java Script for pronto. I have found a tutor who is willing to come and teach up to 6 people, one night a week for 3 hours.

Maybe we could document this and get it turned in to an E-book,

Could other Pronto distributors do the same thing around the world :)
