If you have not already done so, reboot the RF9600. Occasionally, I've found mine has crashed.

If you want to look for really out there issues, consider the possibility that there is a duplicate SSID in the area and your TSU9600 is signing on to the wrong network.

From Tom/ Buzz, above...
1. Ensure you have not specified the IP address for the extender in ProntoEdit.

2. Yes, SSID is an obvious thing.

Anyone who uses "ProntoNetwork" should realize that the SSID of the wireless router (your home network) now becomes "ProntoNetwork". Everyone should consider creating their own unique SSID. Mine is "LMCGEENET01", for example.

3. Another obvious thing is the reboot (remove and reapply power) the RFX9600.

Additional points.

4. Ensure you are running the latest firmware on both the TSU9600 and the RF Extenders. Nowhere in this thread, has anyone reported the firmware version they are using.

5. Ensure that you are putting the RFX9600 firmware onto the RFX9600 and NOT using the RFX9400 firmware. Not sure if the extenders are smart enough to detect if trying to install RFX9400 firmware onto an RFX9600.

Thanks for your tips:

1. No IP address is specified in PEP for the Extender. (Tried also with the IP address in PEP but it didn't work)

2. SSID: changed to a unique name. (Although there wasn't another network called Prontonetwork in range.)

3. Rebooted several times

4. Firmware version:
- TSU9600: 5.0.6
- RFX9600: 1.1.36
- PEP: 1.1.20

5. The firmware file is called RFX9x00Updater.zip. I believe that it is the same file for both products (RFX9400 and RFX9600)

BUT still doesn't work.

Any other idea?

Have you tried the obvious:

Standing on one leg facing west, chanting cuckooo three times at the same time as you reboot your complete system?

Menino,
Can you ping the extender? That might give us a clue.

There are switches on the back of the extender that control various settings with regard to extender id and mode. Can you please tell us what those are set to

1,2, or 3
and
0 to F (15)

Then, what is the extender id selected in your config file?

I'm not assuming anything here so please, please don't take offense.

Thanks,
Lyndel McGee

Lyndel, no offense at all. Any help is really appreciated!

The extender ID in the config file is the same as the ID on the back of the unit (ID=0).
And the switch is set to 1.

Anyway I will send the unit for repair to Philips. Let's see what they say about it.
