Lyndel is correct. AFAIK Pause is a simple pause. What you want is a bookmark. I suggest that you make a request at slimdevices.com for that feature and see what they say. Maybe they already have it in the roadmap.

Perhaps they do handle it, but Slimdevices is the best place to go. Their forums are responded too very quickly.

I did a quick check at slimdevices and there is a bookmark plugin but not very much info about it. I suggest you contact the author, kdf. Depending on what the plugin supplies as an interface I may be able to integrate it into slimPronto as a future feature.

I recently changed my Broadband Provider and XP Laptop for a MAC Book (I have an old desktop which I can use for ProntoPro edits)

During all of the above SlimPronto no longer works, I assume this is because

1) The IP address of squeezecentre on my MAC has changed

2) Port 9090 is not open on MAC

Can anyone tell me how to -

Find out what the IP address of squeezecentre on my Mac is and

How do I open port 9090 or whatever it is on the MAC

Thanks v much
Mark

The IP of the squeezecenter running on the MAC is the IP of the MAC itself. All applications on any PC with a single NIC card, as I am assuming your MAC has, Use the same IP address (Think of it as street address of an aprtment building) with the port number being the individual apartment address where somebody (a specific application) lives.

Slimpronto needs two ports available to it from squeeze center, 9090 and 9000. 9090 is the standard squeezecenter CLI port, and 9000 is its non-standard HTTP port which squeezecenter uses to deal with http and cover art.

I suggest you might get more traction on this question from the Slimdevices user forum which is a very robust and well attended forum, since it really addresses the issues associated with running squeezecenter on a MAC.

Many many thanks Barry.

The info on the IP Address worked a treat, I was able to get the MAC Book address and now Slimpronto works fine as well as artwork

Can only assume port 9000 was already open.

All the best
Mark

IS it possible to change the port from 9000 to 10000?
I'm running a Twonky on the same machine and would like to be able to change in the Slimpronto since it's possible in the Squeezeserver settings panel.

Regards
Bengt

I do not recognize the name HarryUp as a slimpronto user. Please contact me through regular email at the address posted in my profile and I am sure I can help you. The answer to your question is yes.

Hi

With the official release of the 7.2 SqueezeCenter code, has anyone tried this with Barry's plugin?

Thanks

I just got finished making sure the forthcoming update worked with 7.1 I see no reason for it not to work with 7.2 I will check before I send it out.

The real pain is installing the next version of squeezecenter. That will be tomorrows job. Most of the time it goes very smooth, but I have to be sure the plugins I need also work.

I agree. I have found this to be a pain too! I have found the best way to move between versions is a complete scrub (not just an uninstall) of the directories and registry. It's a pain!

I'll check for any feedback on the Slim forusm about moving to 7.2.

I installed Version 7.2 with no issues!. Just ran the install and it appears everything was picked up correctly.

The major change that affects compatability has to do with the alarms as they changed the format of the commands between (7.0,7.1) and 7.2. I need to look at that. SlimPronto does know the version of squeezecenter that is running so that will be soluble. Other things all seem to work.

Will you update all your 'clients' automatically?

...still haven't had the time to setup and get my copy working completely.
Might have to eMail you - maybe this weekend I'll take the time...
Could be easier if I would start over with your revised release since I have the latest official version of SlimServer running.

Did you edit it with PEPv1 or PEPv2? Still haven't made the transition. Don't know if I will in the near future.
If you don't want to get better you stop being good.

Yes all clients are notified and sent the update automatically assuming I have a current email address. I also post a notice here in case I do not have a correct email address or it has changed.

The current version will work on 7.1 and 7.2 with the only issue being the alarm clocks. They changed the design for 7.2 and I have posted a question and am waiting for an answer. I will then make it compatible for both versions of SC.

The current version xcf can be loaded into PEP2 with no issue. It will issue a warning when it downloads to the controller regarding a sound file (TactileTick) and some jumps that have no targets.

The sound file issue can be resolved by either changing the sounds page to use a sound file that is in the PEP2 sound folder (e.g. TouchMono) or a suitable file can be placed into the PEP2 sound folder named TactileTick or whatever suits your fancy.

The Jumps are for the QuickStart feature, and if you are not using it the fact that PEP2 removes them is a non issue as they won't be referenced. If you are using the quick start feature, the jumps which are the jumps out of Slimpronto back to an activity that performed the quickstart will have been filled in by you so PEP2 will not issue a warning for the ones you are using.

The jump warning is nice, I would have rathered there was a validity check button that would check the entire xcf for validity prior to the download attempt.

Can you run SlimPronto with Windows Vista and an XBox 360 as a Media Center Extender? At the moment, I can run Media Center on my 360 and select my music, etc. on my TV set. I was wondering if you could use your software with my 9600 and bypass my TV. I assume I still have to use the XBox 360 though, since the files are sent to the 360 first and then the music is output via optical to my preamp.
