Hi there,

yes, it's here!! For only $199.99!!

A fully bi-directional RS-232 relay card (8 relais SPST, max. load 230V/4A) with complete ready to integrate prontoscript module (so far only for the TSU9600 but soon for the TSU9400, too) that will easily let you set each relay either pulsed or toggled mode. This script is also easy to modify so you can alter the design and blend it into your existing layout.

Full feedback for each relay is incorporated so you can instantly see each relay state. You can turn all relays on and/or off with a single button click as well.

You can daisy-chain up to 255 (!) relay cards and they will auto-address and even tell you when there is a problem (full debug and error message handling).

These card run on 12V DC and draw a maximum (all relays ON) of 250mA!

Screw Terminals are provided for each relay, RS-232 IN and OUT (Fx, Rx, GND) and power, as well as one RS-232 9-pin SUB-D plug (male).

This card comes "naked" and can be fitted in a grey plastic case for an additional $25.00.

Dimensions are (approximately WxLxH): 4.5" x 6" x 2"

It has been thoroughly tested with the RFX9600 and works 100%.

I accept paypal ONLY as a means of green and will ship w/ DHL w/ the corresponding s/h charges.

All cards come w/ a 12 month warranty and are german engineered and made.

Lyndel is right, there's no website where you can see the card, but there's his office website ( www.controled.de ) in german where you can see what they do. They seem very professional when you see in the "Referenzen" part of their site, they are working on some programs of 850.000 euro ( +/- 1.300.000 US dollar ).

Daniel, it does not use HTTP as your relay card does. No similiarities at all. I know because I worked on the cleanup earliest version of said script.

I think that must refer to an older version of this product.

Looking at the spec now:

I / O card with integrated Ethernet interface for professional control applications in automation and building technology, as well as for integration into machine control systems, control cabinets and office equipment.

It is controlled directly through the embedded web server. The software integration over a TCP connection is supported.

No, I don't. I have not seen the documentation for the new relay. IIRC on the 232-based relay, you set a bit for on/off. You could also query state.

According to the product text on the site above, it would appear that you can toggle:

Montage auf Hutschienen
8 Opto-Eingänge
8 Reed-Relais-Ausgänge 0.5A (10W) / 125 VAC, 60 VDC
Betriebsspannung: 24 VDC
Integrierte Timer-Funktion
2 Hardware-Zähler
Ethernet IEEE 802.3, 10/100 Base-T, RJ-45 Anschluss
LED-Statusanzeige
Individuelle Buttonfunktionen für jeden Input/Output (only remote, timer, timed by input, toggle)
Buttons beliebig anpassbar (auf jeder Prontoseite anzeigbar)

So now that we've established that your card does not operate in the same way as the ethernet-based card, would you mind terribly linking a post to and then going back to your other thread?

What is the RS-232 latency? (Assume the device connected to RS-232 answers immediately, how long will it take between a send-receive? The RFX-9600 has a latency of 40ms).

Thanks,
Peter

The latency of the relay board is very small as it runs @ 19200 baud. I actually cleaned up the final version of script for this board and had one for testing. It was quite fast.

Note that if you want 2-way on this board, you should search this forum for posts by me containing the word UART as you should be aware that Serial ports 3 and 4 on RFX9600 use shared UART. There are implications such that you will want to either not use one of these ports (use 3 or 4 but not both is 2-2-way 232 is in use - risk losing data) or put 1-way devices on these ports and use Ports 1 and 2 for 2-way.
