Hi..

I am controlling my Meridian Digital Sound Processor through the RFX serial extender. (Using the Meridian Serial protocol [Link: meridian-audio.com])
The volume control does not appear to be responding correctly. When pressing the volume button on the TSU9600, be it a short or long press the volume changes by 10 units. The repeats window is the default setting ie "send once".
I did alter the time between repeats, but all that seemed to do was increase or decrease the speed by which the volume went up or down, the ten units.
I am considering connecting the output from the RFX extender to my pc and using Hyper terminal, just to see what is being sent.....

Do you think my problems are at the Philips end or the Meridian end.

Thanks

Roy

P.S. I have e-mailed this to the pronto team, but up to now I haven't received a reply.

Hold the above......this was with my pronto that developed a problem with the screen, and has in the last 2 hours been replaced.
No longer a problem.......Volume works perfectly. Maybe more than just a screen fault ?

sorry for the wasted space.

What firmware versions are you running on the remote and on the extender? Philips has a later version that what ships with the remote and the extender. Have you installed those?

No....will update shortly.

Also along with the volume not working, the mute button has also stated to repeat itself.
i.e. switching on and off on the same button press.

Update..... Just before I update the firmware, I now realise that most all of the serial commands to the Meridian processor and DVD player are being repeated to some extent...
Didn't realise this until I started to play around with the DVD player. During my setting up I have been using the satellite box and screen, so the volume on the Meridian was the only thing that appeared not to working correctly...

I have a similar issue to still resolve. After obtaining an RFX9600 2 weeks ago, I set up 3 of my components using rs232 connections and serial codes that previously worked with my system. Sont CX777ES DVD player, a Sunfire Theater Grand IV processor/receiver and a Toshiba HD-DVD player HD-XA1. When sending any code the system seems to repeat the code between 8 and 14 times. No matter the command. This is when using both manufacturer supplied commands as well as those found on the internet. Anyone else encountered this issue and if so, have you found a resolution yet? Don't know where else to turn. Thanks.

FYI. I updated the firmware on the TSU 9600 to 1.3 version and the problem is solved. Kudos to Philips for fixing this issue as quickly as they actually did. Couldn't be happier.
