I'm looking for the next generation control device for my system.
I like the look of the RS232 and power sensing capability of this remote (with it's extender), but the big question is............
Can I get status information from my receiver using RS232 and display it on the remote.
From what I've read, it doesn't look like it.
If you can't then that strikes me as a major short coming.
I fancy trying to get hold of some crestron or AMX kit and having a tinker with that. Or more likely, hack my own control system together with a tablet PC or similar and a control PC hooked with RS232 or network to my gear.
Thanks, Bruce.

Bruce,
Not yet. 2-way RS-232 is coming but I don't know how they are going to integrate status items (your volume level) into existing UI elements. I bet the first cut would be to only change the label text and not allow panels with many images (like battery status).
