I'm sorry if this has been asked, but I'm still unsure after checking a few threads. Is the 9600 available for purchase? If not, are those who are referring to getting/using theirs beta users? If it's not available, what is the lastest prediction of when? Where do you recommend getting it as soon as it's available. Thanks,
Marc

Yes the TSU 9600 and the RFX 9400 have been released, installed my first one monday. AVAD is the only distributor that has any right now. They ordered all of the available product from Philips until early first quarter of next year. Philips has had some problems getting enough product built before release so most AVADs only received partial orders. Good luck finding any.

Thanks for the reply.
Does AVAD sell to the public? Is it worth calling them? If not, can my custom installer (working on my theater project) order from them?

Thanks for the heads up on hideflifestyle. I just placed an order online for the TSU9600. I think I probably want the RFX9400 and RFX9600 (I need to do a little more reading). However, I couldn't find them anywhere on their site. Where did you find it/them? Thanks,
Marc

Thanks for the tip. I ordered off their site 8 days ago. It said "In Stock". However, my order wasn't shipping when I checked there site. I called a few days later and they said more would come in on Tuesday or Wednesday and ship immediately. There site still said "In Stock". I called on Wednesday and got a message. I asked about my order and asked for a call back right away. I got an email today, two days later, from Hideflifestyle saying they wouldn't be getting any more and they had concelled my order. Not very satisfying service.

I ordered this afternoon from Dave at RemoteQuest. It is suppose to ship today.

I picked up a few as soon as I first saw how beautiful they were. What an amazing screen!

No need to list distributors to the public.

Sound.SD If you go to RTIs website and click on where to by... it links right to AVAD. Also there are several press releases that specifically list AVAD and ADI as being the distributors for the 9600.

I can see where you were going.. but I think that ship has sailed...

Marc Koenig AVAD is not supposed to sell to the public. You are supposed to have a business license for your state and an account with AVAD. There are also some agreements that usually need signatures...

Your CI can probably get the remote... but if he has no idea how to program it... well I guess you would need to agree on a cash and carry arrangement.

I'm sorry, I don't see where SOUND.SD is going... Is the concern that the public being able to buy this will impact business? Trust me, if someone wants to do their own programming, nothing will stop them. They will find a way to buy the unit, and Phillips has already said this would be available to the public. There are enough customers out there unwilling to program one of these to keep the pros busy.

Whoa! Easy......

Im not sure you read the whole thread. I just said that I didnt think it was appropriate to list distributor info.... its a fairly common view point among CI's on this thread.

I was only suggesting that CI's would prefer for our distributors to not be public info. There is no reason to make it public..... You cant but from them, they dont want end-user phone calls, ect ect ect

So .....NO, My concern is not that end-users can buy this remote.... In fact, if you want one please email me. I even stated that above I have a few available.

If you are looking for an arguement you wont find it here.

Wasn't my intent, just wondering the reasoning for your comment and the comment made by Springs had me my mind off and running!

As for wanting one, you bet! Give me a week or 2 and I will e-mail you (need to deal with something else first).
