Hi there,

how do I flag a button (indicator) for a simple RS-232 input like "1on/carriage return" and "1off/carriage return" to show the actived state of my power button as soon as the signal is received?? Furthermore, what happens if - let's say the unit was turned on and my button shows that - the unit gets turned off while the pronto is in standby?? How do I access the state of my device??

Thanks for the help...

To do what you want requires Pronto Script. When you receive the RS232 input you must analyze it and then change the button/panel widgets label or image as you desire.

For the standby issue you need to recognize that the Pronto has come out of standby and react accordingly. Once again pronto script required.

In general if you want the pronto to act as a "dumb remote" then Pronto script is not required. If you want to field any returns (inputs to the Pronto other than button presses by the user) then Pronto script will be required AFAIK
