Thanks to this great forum I now know there are other great remotes out there besides the Logitech Harmony's! Could you all help me choose a remote to fit my needs?

My needs:
- remote I can configure myself (I am very technical)
- RF
- macro support
- touchscreen of some sort but i don't want it to be only soft buttons
- good ergonomics
- support for mythtv (uses lirc)
- support for PS3
- some sort of joystick/pad for mouse control

I understand some remotes require a base station for RF so I will also need suggestions on that as well.

Thank you!

PS3 support will require an additional device regardless of the remote you get.

Could you clarify what you mean by "mouse control"? If you mean actual mouse cursor control for a PC... it's unavailable except in dedicated-purpose PC controls.

Which additional device would I need?

I have a Silverstone HTPC case for my mythtv machine with a IR receiver on the front. The remote has a pad which can be pressed in every part of the circle for input. However, I suppose up, down, left and right would be sufficient. Seeing how its just a IR remote it should work fine, no? Here is the remote:

It may not may not be possible to replicate basic input from that pad... if it's pressure sensitive, probably very difficult. If it's just an 8-way pad or even a 16-way pad, you can likely capture the basic directions, but it's not going to be as usable as the original.

For the PS3 you need something like one of these [Link: remotecentral.com]

I just checked my config and it looks like I'm only using up, down, left and right for the pad. I also have the IR codes for the whole remote as I had to configure that myself. I should be in good shape then, right?
