I assumed this was going to be their answer to Harmony and URC's products that are available at magnolia.

No, it's geared more towards those smaller CI's who are just starting, like the sat/cable guy, the alarm guy, and good old sparky. Of course they are using Harmony and URC's lower end remotes now, just like Mr.DIY.

Agreed....that's why I've been recommending the RE universal IR remote (NewKinetix) to several bloggers on this site. I have a RE and although I missed the contact of 'real buttons' at first, I feel that this product is very much part of the developments in home device control.

FYI....it is very interesting to see on this thread/forum that there is a shift towards (and genuine interest in) controlling home theaters (and other home devices) utilizing ipad/iphone solutions such as the RE.

Are you sure it's not because you work for the company selling the 'RE'?

Don't lump all of us DIY'ers together. I use URC and Nevo, and I have the software and abilities to program them.

Speaking of the iPad, I wish Nevo and/or URC would integrate the iPad into their systems.
I spent all my money on cigars, liquor, and golf. The rest I wasted.

Same here

And they probably are using the lower end ones simply because of the price. If you can program a RF50 with the terrible info (most probably don't find this site) then you can program the "Pro" versions via the software.
