you can do it , but far easer to use a Pronto to capture the code and display in hex format.
Pronto still one of the best Wi-Fi Remotes,

Buy a Pronto on ebay. Get the programming software on this site.

Once you have the Pronto, post again here and send me a private message. I'll tell you what to do next. I don't visit this forum too often and I would not want to get you started without helping later.

Imagine looking at a scope and trying to tell if you are seeing the sound of a saxophone or a guitar; it would take immense amounts of training and skill, but the ear can do it with very little training. What you have on the scope is so completely abstract compared to a hex command... or perhaps it's the other way around... that you need a device designed to interpret and reproduce the command. The Pronto does that.

I program remote controls for clients and I always carry a Pronto TS-1000 (that's the US model of the first generation of Prontos) with me.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Excellent post.

I'd like to add the same thing can be accomplished with a $10 JP1 remote and $8 interface cable or an IRWidget plus free IRScope software.
