I am trying to get a Rogers 1056B01 Remote work with my Motorola DCT6200 - 2005 Shaw Cable Box.

Currently the remote control is not able to even turn ON or OFF the cable box. I was able to program it to work with my TV but just wondering if there way a way I could factory reset this remote control and program it to recognize my cable box.

Any help with this is much appreciated.

First unlock the cable setup codes:
1) Press Setup until 2 blinks
2) Enter 982
This toggles the cable setup lock.  When the remote blinks 4 times, it is unlocked.  If it blinks twice, it is locked, so do steps 1 and 2 again.

Next assign setup code Cable 1376:
1) Press Cable
2) Press Setup until 2 blinks
3) Enter 1376
The remote should blink twice.

Fantastic!!!

That did it :)

Thank you so much for your quick response on this. It's much appreciated!

One more question, I have the option to return this remote and get the newer 1056B03 instead. What would you suggest? Hold on to this or get the newer one?

I read somewhere something about the advantages of JP 1.3 on this remote but I am a newbie and I am not sure what the differences are...

any suggestion?

It's not a clear win either way.  The B03 is a JP2 remote, and has a much bigger collection of setup codes, so it is more likely to be able to control newer components.  However, one of the usual advantages of these UEI remotes is that they can be manually programmed with keymoves--if a setup code doesn't have a needed function, one can add the IR signal corresponding to that function by entering a 5 digit EFC.  For some reason, the B03 doesn't support keymoves, so the user is limited to specifically the functions implemented by the setup code.

If you get a JP1.3/2 flash interface cable it won't matter which Atlas you have--either can be programmed via JP1 to send any signal.

Great! I guess I will hold on to my 1056B01 then as it has already been programmed and is working fine with all my devices.

Thanks again for your reply.

Cheers
