try code 1972.

Hello Edmund code 1972 did'nt work here's the procedure I tryed
1.turned on PC left on desktop.
2.press mode button on top used SAT it blinked once
3.held setup for two blinks
4.entered 1972, observed one blick on the SAT
5.attemped to turn off w/ the big power buttom directly under SAT. PC just stayed on.

edit: I tryed the DVR mode button and it kindof works.
it will power the PC off & on and navigate right,up,OK and exit seam to be allready mapped.
however it works very slow & freezes up I'll try a fully charged battery to see if it speeds up.

edit 2: new batteries really improved the speed seams like menu, info, guide, exit play stop ect. are allready mapped.

next I want the famous green button I'm assumming it will have to learned from the Hewpackard WMC remote?

then I'd like to create macros watch TV, and watch PC, listen to radio ect.
this will involve turning on
AVR, TV, PC then the correct HDMI port what order would you suggest on these macros?
Thanks Edmund you are the Man I searched and did'nt find this 1972 code.

Hello 3FG evedentalley the 1972 code has allready mapped the keys for WMC except for the green key open WMC.

I would like the PC to start at the desktop (it currently starts at WMC) then use the square green button as a start WMC then another to close WMC.

if the code 1972 only allows for a PC to start at WMC then I guess a close WMC buttom would be OK.

I also want to create a marco to watch TV and to watch PC.

Programming a Macro Key:
1.On the remote control, press and hold the Setup key until it blinks twice.
2.Enter 9 9 5. The Setup key blinks twice.
3.Select a macro key and press it once.
4.Press the key sequence you want to program into the macro. For example, to turn on your TV and raise the volume, press the TV mode key once, followed by pressing the Vol+ key once. You can program up to 15 key presses into once macro.
5.Press and hold Setup until it blinks twice.
6.To add another macro, repeat steps 1 through 5, substituting the new key sequence to be added in step 4. Programming more than five macros on the same macro key overwrites previous settings.

Clearing a Macro Key:
1.On the remote control, press and hold the Setup key until it blinks twice.
2.Enter 9 9 5. The Setup key blinks twice.
3.Press once on the macro key you want to clear.
4.Press and hold Setup until the active mode key blinks twice.

This macro key is now clear and ready for reprogramming. If desired, repeat these to clear another macro key.

here's my current manuel 8 step procedure for watch PC

1.press mode AVR
2.power on w/ live button
3.set to HDMI 3 (which I have a button programed on the RCA for)
4.mode TV
5.power on TV
6.mode PC
7.power on PC
is this how I create a macro for watch PC?
OK nevermind (wrote this here to document for others) I just built my first Macro turns on w/ the press of the macro1 button however when I'm ready to turn off and press macro1 the Yamaha AVR stays on (due to using the live button to turn it on and the power button to turn off).Think I can live w/ that.

macro2 watch TV

1.press mode AVR
2.power on w/ live button
3.set to AV1 button #4 (which I have a button programed on the RCA for)
4.mode TV
5.power on TV

Macro 1& 2 completed.

two remaining issuses
volume & open/close WMC

I would also like to not have to constantly go from TV,PC mode to AVR mode just to control volume would like to be able to control volume from any mode so following procedure you wrote in is this procedure done 4 times for each device(mode) like AVR,DVD,PC &DVR ?

edit: the current watch PC (WMC) volume is just the WMC ratio of the AVRs setting I want to be able to adjust volume from the AVR.

Volume Punch Thru 993-- lock all devices to one VPT device.
1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
2. PRESS 9 - 9 - 3. Two blinks.
3. PRESS Vol+
4. PRESS the VPT device button. Two blinks of the selected device.

one more macro ? is step 3.Select a macro key and press it once. can this be any button besides the lighted an setup? if yes how do I know the # of macros allowed?
Thanks

Use the Wiki instructions for Style 2 VPT.

Macro1 and Macro2 are multi-macro buttons.  If more than one macro is assigned to a multi-macro button, each press of the button runs the next macro in the sequence.

Most other buttons can be assigned only a single macro.  YOu can use 995 to get a macro which will be run regardless of device mode.   978 will make the macro available in only one device mode.

excellent Style 2 VPT. Volume Punch Thru 993 is working in any mode and the watch TV macro is working fine however after the Volume Punch Thru 993 the watch PC macro is malfunctioning
the AVR switchs to PC, PC turns on,the TV turns off (I'm thinking the TV is turning off because it was previously on via the watch TV macro so maybe I should adjust the watch PC macro to not power on TV)? and wierdly my sub (Polk audio DSW 1000) is staying on even when I manuelly power off the AVR.

I used to turn the sub on & off w/ a remote then used the subs smart circuitary which senses audio signal to turn itself on and off if it doe'snt sense a signal after 15 minutes it will turn off however it allways turns off when the AVR is powered off.

What do you suggest clearing the PC macro and reprogramming it to this?

1.press mode AVR

2.set AVR to HDMI 3 red button (which I have a button programed on the RCA for PC)

3.mode PC
4.power on PC

edit: w/ all device turned off I press macro watch PC AVR turns on and is set to PC the volume can be adjusted on AVR
however no audio. pressing macroPC will turn off the TV as it should.
the Macro watch TV works fine both on and off.

edit: watchTV is assigned to Macro1
watchPC is assigned to Macro2

3FG do you think the volume punch though has interfered w/ the watch PC marco?
Thanks

am going to attempt to program this remote later today. Liking this because it has the ability to do WMC MCE and ROKU and APPLE TV and my PLASMA TV

If I am lucky it will learn my MOUSE CURSER direction commands for WIN7.

thanks edmund. now i just need to program the GREEN BUTTON that launches MCE as i use that in a few different ways. will just have the remote learn it and map it to the green button on the remote.

done learning the green button. all set.

any suggestions on mapping mouse curser control buttons??? for use in windows 7? my plan is to buy a remote the emulates a mouse, and just learn the UP-DOWN-RIGHT-LEFT-CLICK RIGHT-CLICK LEFT buttons but if this has been done, would like to know.

also does RCA make a RCRP05BR with backlit keys?
