Hello... time to swap out the MX900 with something compatible.

The keys sometimes have to be mashed hard to receive input ... i have no idea why...the remote is clean.

I currently use the MX900 along with the MSC-400.

Any suggestions for a comparable remote??? Hopefully with better a better keypad?

Thanks!

Comparable... or compatible? Ie. are you intent on keeping the MSC-400?

Ahhh, didn't know that. Maybe that's the best option. Thanx

MX900 (URC remotes in general) keypad Maintenance & Repair:
1) Open the remote (twist method) and clean the circuit board contact with some contact clean, specifically the key giving you trouble. I suggest using a magnification glass to inspect them.
2) Lightly clean the touch pad contacts.
3) If two above doesn't work; repair the keypad contact membrane. Use MG Chemical's "RUBBER KEYPAD REPAIR KIT", available from Mouser.com for about $30. I have and it has worked great.

I feel confident that using the repair kit, my MX900 should last until I get tried of it. Personally, I do not wish to deal with URC's attitude.

I ended up sending the MX 900 to URC. I paid for shipping and handling and that was it.

Because this remote is "known for having this problem AND because its a higher end remote," they repaired free of charge.

I will also say they were fast on getting it back to me. (less than a week)

They did NOT offer to send a replacement while mine was being repaired.
