Hello all,

Having trouble getting an Atlas 1056 remote to power off cable box after configuration. When I press the CBL button and then power, the CBL button never lights and then it cycles to TV mode button. I've tried removing the TV code from the TV button and the cable box refuses to power off with the remote.

Is there a factory reset code that can get me back to square one? Any other insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

mario

I'll answer here, although an Atlas hardly falls into the "Pro remote" category.
Probably the Power key has a macro assigned to it that is overriding the behavior you want.
Use the 9XX command instructions to clear the possible macro. Use the 995 command, paying attention to step 4, which tells how to clear an existing macro.

Is this a 1056B01 or B03?  If it is a B01, tell us the the brand and model of your cable box, and we can probably suggest an alternate fix using keymoves (994).

If it is a B03, or previous efforts don't fix the problem, I recommend trying next the 977 command, which may restore the remote to the configuration installed by the cable company.  Next you can do a 980 reset, but that may erase a cable-company installed upgrade. Finally, you can do a 981 reset, which will put the remote into the base configuration.  981 will definitely remove any functionality installed by the cable company.

Since it is a B03, I would first try the 995 command.
1) Press Setup until 2 blinks
2) Enter 995 (2 blinks)
3) Tap Power
4) Tap Power again
5) Press Setup until 2 blinks.

If this doesn't work, try it again a couple of times. I have a B03, and was able to get into the same state as yours. The above procedure fixed it.

Thanks for the info. Before I give it a roll, should CBL be pressed first or does it not matter?

Won't hurt, but I don't think it matters.
