Hi, I have a bathroom setup with a plasma and russound on the wall. The cable box is routed outside the bathroom to a closet and therefore need an ir and rf waterproof solution. I found the balboa dolphin which seems to fit the bill perfectly except that it is now discontinued.

I did manage to buy the remote itself on closeout but it did not come with the rf command center. My question therefore is:

Can I use a different rf base station to receive the dolphin's rf command to convert to ir in front of the cable box? If so, how would I program it to receive the rf signals sent by the dolphin?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Best
Ray

No, you cannot. RF base stations are not interchangeable.

Check out the new URC MXW-920 and use any of their RF receivers.
