The documentation for this remote is horrid. What are the colored buttons for and how do you program them.
I am also having a problem turning on and off my Yamaha RX-V661 Receiver with the activities...any suggestions?
Can you program a learned code to a hard button on the remote?

I really like the remote but it will be returned if it doesn't work correctly.

In Europe the coloured buttons were initially used for Teletext navigation. They're also now being used for digital TV guide navigation.

To program them just learn the codes from the original remote.

Does your Yamaha receiver have a toggle on/off or discrete on/off button/s?

If you are asking, "Can I teach a hard button a code?" Yes, same as learning the colour codes.
