I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a code for programming an older Yamaha remote for controlling an RX-V3900? I have been trying all the codes I can find in the manuals, but no joy. I have the remote from an RX-V1900, but they just don't seem to jive. Any help would be appreciated.

I can see no model numbers, but the remotes look identical (the default codes definitely are), ergo I see no reason why the one from the 1900 should not control the 3900 (and vice-versa). Note, however, the caveat under the default codes . . .

"You may not be able to operate your Yamaha component even if a Yamaha control code is preset as listed above. In this case, try setting another Yamaha remote control code."

The manuals, by the way, can be had from here . . .

The remotes for the 1900 and 3900 are completly different, your better of getting a programable remote , or get a spare from your Yamaha dealer..

The 3900, Z7, z11 are very simular.
Pronto still one of the best Wi-Fi Remotes,

The models numbers for the remotes are RAV 383 (RX-V1900) and RAV 386 (RX-V3900). I was hoping to not have to order a universal remote, I have never found one that can learn all the functions of the Yamaha remotes, and trust me, I use them all. Thanks for the help so far djy and pronto.
