Hi....I'm Tony from South Africa. I've been struggling for a while to get my phillips tv working, its on standby mode & i dont have a remote for it, except a universal remote thats got no manufacturer name on it & no manual either.
my tv model no. is 28mk 2490/73r
I've got a picture of the remote but no model number that i can see.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks djy, i'll send you an email.
oh, i forgot to mention that the buttons on the TV only work if the TV has been on for a while, takes a little longer in winter, thats why i can't switch the TV on. I've tried a blow dryer to warm it up, but that doesnt work anymore.
Also the channel (not all the channels) used to drift, i had to retune once the TV was warmed up, and tune again when it was cold, but thats a different story, i think.
