i was thinking of the harmony 880 which is just starting to show up or i thought of maybe trying the HP iPAQ RX3115 and using the nevo software i would like to get some thoughts on this do other PDAs have better remote software nevo looked like one of the best from what i found primary use will be remote and i like the nevo server feature
When choosing a PDA to use it as a remote control, you'd better pay attention to its IR range. PPC/Windows Mobile devices mostly have a weak IR port. The only exception is HP iPAQ 6340 and rx3715 - the range is 12-17 feet. Palm OS devices present much better IR ports. I've tried several devices, the last was Tungsten E - 15-25 feet . On Tungsten E I use novii remote deluxe. Its learning curve is sometimes better than that of universal remote controls. The software features customizeable button layouts and a big database of IR codes. Probably there is Novii remote for PPC.
