Installed their latest, appeared it was unusable for me because it doesn't support ccf files, it can only import discrete codes.
But then the misery began:
It would not be removed entirely from my Axim X3, so I was obliged to weed out all files from my pda.
Still, after deleting everything I'm still stuck with a msg the damn program is looking for a file right after starting up my current favorite - Netremote.
So beware when you install the program, maybe you're lucky maybe not.

THE same thing happened to me.
I was so aggravated I did a complete reset on my iPAQ 3650,deleting all information on the iPAQ.
What I did not realize was that I dont have the registration code for iPAQ(lost)
So I am without the use of my Ipaq.
Any suggestions to get me up and running again would be greatly appreaciated.

Yes, there is still an deinstall issue. Sorry for that.

If you call "Remove Programs" you will get perhaps this error message:

This is an general Windows CE problem: All installed TTF- fonts are locked by the operating system and can't be uninstalled with the "Remove Programs"- tool.

But there is an workaround: Rename these two fonts to orbitbn.ttf_ and RC.ttf_, make a reset and call then the "Remove Programs" tool.
I will fix this uninstall problem with the next version of RC II.

Barend: RC II doesn't support CCF- layout files. I have mentioned this already here in my posting from 23. August: [Link: remotecentral.com]

"The CCF layout- file format is not supported because it's to unflexible for the upcoming extensions. Furthermore is the CCF format not completely documented. All CCF "compatible" PocketPC remote controls uses reverse engineered CCF parser and are not 100% compatible.
Only the IR- CCF- hex- code format is supported. So you can import any existing IR- code."

Dont understand Barend ? where does it say ccf support it is far superior in every respect as a remote software to the bug ridden netremote. Have you ever managed to drive the usb-uirt on the pc with netremote and ir-netserv absolute rubbish. At least the software remote control II works and really well never had any trouble with it

Have released RemoteControl II, v1.10,

with some Pocket PC specific enhancements and bugfixes.
The fonts- uninstall problem is fixed and you can use RC II on external storage cards now.

Have also added some nice Pocket PC- skins from an RC II user:

Did I say that???
CCF is bugged but it's the only soft you can homebrew. Ever tried finding codes for some non-ccf proggie for, say, a dvdo scaler, an Arcam receiver or a Panny plasma?
Ain't out there.
NR even works in repeat mode, and the Axim is my only computer my wife knows exactly how to reset!
What I like about NR is they address bugs instantly on their excellent forum.
Ever tried sending a bug report to the competition?
Either they're deaf or busy, busy, busy...
No, as pda remotes go, I like NR a lot.

At least you received an apology from Frank - when did Microsoft ever make a personal apology for the bugs that plagued their software. The hiccups in the PPC version of RCII will no doubt get ironed out as they become apparent - so posting rants about irresponsable software, when the guy has acknowledged that he's making every attempt to fix it,make's me come to the conclusion that you are one of lifes moaners.

So if barend is so happy with NR why try anything else. I noticed on the NR forum you moan about their software. Frank fixed the fault in 1 day how about that for time . Also you can use any pronto code in RCII if you care to read the site. Also YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER all the ir handling in NR is actually WINCESOFT so doesn't that tell you something?

I thought I should take a minute to elaborate. I now have both versions of this software runing. The CE version on a WebDT375 with an extender card and the Pocket PCversion on an HP2215 IPAQ.

On The CE version, I am using the external application function to open a browser for web cams and a web based control app. Very Cool...

The software works well and the developer is VERY responsive when asked questions.
