Hy guys, as a techno geek addict I am always looking for new technologies to play with.
I have been looking the evolution of extremely portable PCs, especialy from Sony and now I put my hands on one of their Vaio U50.
It is a marvelous peace of technology.
Double the size of a PDA side by side but still very portable like a PDA but it run Windows XP PRO and I like this very much!

I also have an old Marantz RC5000i that despiste it have low resolution and monochrome display I still find it very usefull.

What I was thinking and would like to share this here to know your opinions, is the use of full computers runing Windows XP with IR controlers very like the Marantz and PDAs with IR transceivers.

I start with some questions:

1-Is there an IR transceiver to be used on PC computers and Windows XP and also software to make use of it in a very friendly way like the softwares used on PDA and Marantz?

2-Is there the possibility to adapt a PPC software to be used on a PC with Win XP?

Once you have a PC running XP you can try various IP solutions both wired and wireless. You can start with a Global Cache GC100 and software from Cinemar, Netremote, Charmed Quark, Girder and I'm sure I'm leaving out a few. These will all require Google searches.

Shoe,

I thank you for the hint but I was looking for a more simpler and cheaper solution like Total Remote that can be used on PPC, I just would like to use it and its software on my U50.

Do you know of any similar product for PC?

Thanks
Felipe
