I got an HP Ipaq H1940, and just got one of them fancy-pants TotalRemote setups... Seen a thread that it would work, and the website says it will with the audio converer thingey...

Anywho, it does work... I DL'ed a Kramer VP-720 CCF file and it worked on one of our units (handy to work for the manufacturer, we got plenty of units to test it on), but I cannot learn commands from the original remote.

Anyone else have / had this issue and can recommend a solution? Kinda useless without the learn command... Working on CCF programming in the meantime.. soo much new stuff to learn :)

Hi.

Just wondering... are you trying to use the audio transmitter to learn your IR commands? The audio transmitter is only a transmitter, not a receiver. You have to use the build-in IrDA port to learn commands.

Hope this helps.

I try both.... but from what I've read it seems the 1940 doesn't allow the use of the built in IR for either....

Seems the 1910 will work, but you go up a few model #'s and it deosn't. Dam HP... and the thing was 200 bucks too : (

O.K., as you might have read elsewhere on RC.com there is NO remote control app for Pocket PCs that can fully utilize the TI or Samsung processors. While Total Remote can be used for _AUDIO TRANSMISSION_ (absolutely NOT IrDA transmission) it cannot ever be used for learning since we cannot access the IrDA port in the required way.

Short version: use something else for learning, and transmit using TR's audio transmitter ONLY.
