I have a new dell X30 axium and loaded the trial version of TR and then a CDF file from a TSU2000. The CDF shows up fine and looks like all is well but even if I get inches away no device is controlled by TR. I know the infered signal works because I can beem and connect to my laptops IR port for syncing. I appears to not be controling my infered on my PDA. Any help?

Can I assume you mean "CCF", not "CDF"?

Have you tried the latest version of Total Remoe, which is likely to be quite a bit more up-to-date than the version included on your Dell CD? Remember, Dell probably made that CD several months ago!

Just to verify that Total Remote is even working, and it is capable of controlling your gear, have you tried using learning to see if it works?

Yes I mean CCF. I will try the learning. I did not use what came with the CD. I actually downloaded the trial from Handango. Where do I go to load the latest version for tria?

Well I tried the sampeling and it works at about 8" to my device. Not to good. I still cannot get the CCF file to work to control a device. It looks great on the screen. I guess it does not work well on the Dell axium x30, so its not for me. Bummer, any sugestions?

Hmm. What gear are you trying to control? Make and model, please.

The newest version made it work and at a much better distance. The only problem I have now is everthing repeats once. So when I select an item in the pronto CCF it does the same thing twice. Also I don't like it that I have to manually go to ccf mode and load a file each time, although its not a deal breaker.

HOT DAMN! That is exactly what it was supposed to do! :)

Um, I'm pretty sure I didn't mean for that to happen. ;) It turns out that we really need some advanced properties adjustment over the transmitted signal, just as we have done for native mode, and this has already been implemented in v3.0 alphas. The theory is that there should be no need for such signal tweaks, but the practical reality is that sometimes you really want or even need the control.

Short term fix: resample the CCF. Sorry, I know that kind of defeats the point of doing all your work on the desktop using ProntoEdit/Tonto, but this has worked for every user who tried it. Should you run into any other problems, refer to our general FAQ and manual info regarding tricks and tips for learning.

Please note that resampling the CCF still gives you a valid CCF that can be used with Prontos, etc. so you are not losing any CCF functionality, just repeating some effort.

Also I don't like it that I have to manually go

Yepper. That is why v3.0 resumes your CCF or native-mode skin/device right where you left off, regardless of skin page or CCF panel. Now that v2.2 seems to have killed the most heinous bugs we can implement our rather expansive v3.0 wish list, and this was HIGH on that list.
