It apppears the well has run dry as far as having a place to go to share Omniremote files.
Dale Eesley sight can no longer be accessed.
Peter Sharpe has not posted files I e-mailed him in the middle of November.
I would be willing to host such a site, but have no idea how to go about creating it.
If someone could guide me thru creating a website like this I will do it.

Yea, Peter Sharpe seems to have flown the coup! Wonder why he's not showing up in this forum anymore. He was all for having this forum a few months back.

I'd love to help you, Dan, but don't know anything about the uploading and downloading part.

Dan: Perhaps resending to Peter would help. Remember to put DEVICES as the subject.

Just a thought......

I know Peter received the pdb.files I sent him because he E-mailed me to thank me for sending the files.
I hope everything is going okay for Peter because his program ORDesktop is the greatest contribution that anyone has made towards improving the Omniremote software.

Okay, I've got a domain and plenty of space that's not even remotely being used.

How many people would be interested in this sort of thing? It wouldn't take too long to get a very basic site up with the files available for downloading.

Should these all be .pdb files, or should it also include codes as text for use in ORDesktop?

Let me know if your interested and any ideas you may have. I'll get started on it this evening.

I would be very interested in this type of site. (I thought that it would be great for RemoteCentral to have a section devoted to .pdb files, but apparently we'll have to do it ourselves.)

I would like to see .pdb files subdivided by equipment (TV, VCR, DVD, etc.), by Brand name (Pioneer, Sony, etc.), a section for "Discrete IR Codes", and a section for a "Wish List" -- items that aren't yet on the site (including discrete IR codes.)

As soon as you have the site up I have created .pdb files for the IR543 as well as for the IR543AH (works with all housecodes) for X-10.

The site probably won't be up and running for at least a week.
If you would care to send your files to my E-MAIL address now I could have a head start on files to have ready when the site first starts out.
This goes for anybody else that has files that they would like to share.

Anyone who's interested can go to what I've got so far (not much) at [Link: socalweb.net]

I need people to submit files and also any suggestions.

Send files to [email protected] and suggestions or anything else to [email protected]

As the first page says, if there is interest, and this thing gets used, I'll be more than happy do work on it and expand it. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Stephen

Stephen - The site is looking good! Simple and efficient. The only suggestion I could make is that you should have a section for discrete codes. This is something that most people have a need for.

Congrats on getting the site up so quickly and providing a great service! Keep up the good work

Cheers, Cameron

The site is up and running.
It is www.coolremotes.com.
I hope this site will be a welcome addition for the people who are using the Omniremote software.

Ditto on needing the Phillips Mag TV codes - I've got a 32", and haven't been able to successfully train from it - no matter what I try.

Thanks
