I hate to bore you all, however until I stumbled on this site by chance a few nights ago searching for details of a suitable remote, I had no idea of the brilliant means of using a PDA to run my home cinema... and that remains my point, and hence the need for some help, i.e. I still have no idea!!

I have an idle Clie NR70V and I have fallen in love with the idea of using it run my cinema. Is there a guide to know where to start?

I have d/l numerous "remote" software packages, but cannot see how to edit the files etc. I had anticipated using "software" to design my screens on a my desktop etc, can this be done?

There are some very talented people on here designing brilliant screens and I would love to make use of them. I had anticipated just learning the commands of all my remotes, before eventually learning to use macros. Could someone point me to a simple help site to get me on my way

I have a V2 Sky+, Pioneer VSX912, Sony DVP 730 and a Themescene H30

For IR software that uses the Philips ccf file format (Griffin Total Remote and PDAwinTVRemote ) you can download two programs to create the screens for the remote software.

The two to search for are Pronto Edit and Tonto. YUou really need both of them. Also check out the files section of this site, Pronto Pro area, documentation, read up on IR hex and ccf formats, to help you understand the codes that are learned, and how to manually edit them to make them work correctly

Hi thanks for the help, however these are both Pocket PC applications, which on the face of it appear to be a little bit more user friendly and straightforward. I have looked at Omniremote and Noveremote for Palm and these, I cannot grasp.

Find Pronto Edit and Tonto a little more straightfoward.

Sorry, did not read your message correctly. Know nothing about Palm machines
